William R. Huneycutt, CPA is the managing partner of the firm. Wil grew up in Locust, NC. After high school, he attended Catawba College in Salisbury, NC where he majored in Business with a concentration in Accounting, minored in Economics, and played baseball for the Indians. As a pitcher, Wil was a two time all conference pitcher and was selected as an Academic All American his senior year.

After graduating from Catawba College, Wil began work for Maxton McDowell, CPA, working primarily out of his Albemarle office. After managing the Albemarle location for eight years, Maxton retired and sold the firm to Wil in July 2018.

In September of 2022, William R. Huneycutt, CPA, PLLC merged with the firm of Taylor & Parsley, CPAs, PLLC to form the firm as it exists today.

Wil has spent his entire career working in public accounting with various businesses, individuals, non-profit entities, and government units as clients. Over time, Wil has developed the experience needed to assist clients with their accounting needs. “I have chosen to stay local, to work in communities where I live and with people I know, and to provide local individuals with a good environment to work and find success in their careers in public accounting. Being a CPA is more than just numbers, it is about people. John E. Parsley, CPA, CVA

John Parsley is a Partner at Huneycutt, Parsley and Taylor, CPAs. John grew up in Wallburg, NC where he attended Ledford High School. After graduating, he went on to get his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington while participating in golf, church activities, and traveling in his free time. John began working in public accounting in 1996 and has been working with clients in the Lexington area since 1999. In John’s 27 years of accounting, he has gained a wealth of knowledge working with client industries including restaurants, service, and construction with extended experience in real estate, manufacturing, and car dealerships. John has assisted in the development and implementation of our new service models – Client advisory services and business valuations. John is passionate about helping our clients benefit from these services which gives him even more motivation to work hard each day.

Chuck Taylor is a Partner at Huneycutt, Parsley and Taylor, CPAs. He grew up in Wheeling, WV and moved to Greensboro, NC where he attended Guilford College and received his Bachelor's in Accounting. After graduating, Chuck became a CPA in 1982 and has practiced public accounting ever since. He has an extensive background working with clients in the manufacturing, wholesale distributorship, and restaurant industries as well as retail, medical, NFPs and start up entrepreneurships. Chuck is passionate about providing a full range of accounting services beyond the basics to his clients including tax, retirement, financial and succession planning. Chuck's long standing, professional and personal relationships with his clients are attributed to genuine connection and consistency in the work he does with them.

Darwin Parks, CPA
Director of Client Advisory Services

Darwin Parks is the Director of Client Advisory Services for Huneycutt, Parsley and Taylor, CPAs. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and lettered in baseball for 4 years, achieving Academic All-Conference his senior year. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and went to work for KPMG, a Big Four accounting firm. In Darwin’s 35 years of being a CPA, he has worked as a Public Accountant, Controller, Corporate CFO, Business Developer and Entrepreneur. This has given him a unique perspective to help clients in diverse industries and positions. He is passionate about helping business owners reach and exceed their goals. Darwin is from Thomasville, NC and now resides at Badin Lake with his wife, Laurie. They have a daughter, a son, and a granddaughter. In addition to his work, he enjoys exercising, boating, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Sherita is a Certified Public Accountant (NC CPA License #25894) in the State of North Carolina, and has worked in public accounting for fourteen years. Prior to her work in public accounting, she worked in accounting in the banking sector for ten years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is a member of the AICPA and NCACPA. She lives in Randolph County with her husband, Eric.

VIVIAN MANESS

Vivian is a CPA (NC CPA License #18027) working in the Asheboro office. Vivian works primarily with corporate and individual income tax preparation and planning. She also works in bookkeeping and payroll for her corporate tax clients. Vivian received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of North Carolina. She is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Vivian lives in Randolph County.

NIKI PATEL

Niki is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of North Carolina (NC CPA License #42460) and works in Albemarle office. Niki was born in India and moved to the United States at age of 11. She grew up in Hardeeville, SC and completed her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from University of South Carolina Beaufort. After graduation she moved to Charlotte, NC and began working at a public accounting firm. She now lives in Union County with her husband, Lakir. They have a pet bird named Happy, who she absolutely loves and adores. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and exercising.

HEATHER AYERS

Heather is an accountant working in the areas of taxation, audit and assurance. Heather prepares income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, individuals, estates, and trusts. She also works in audit in governmental, non-profit, and construction contractors. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Gardner-Webb University in 2003, and her Master’s in Accounting from Gardner-Webb University in 2013. She has worked in public accounting for 18 years and lives in Asheboro.
Administrative Assistant

KIMBER BREWER

Kimber Brewer joined HPT in November of 2022 as the Administrative Assistant for our Asheboro location. She studied Business Administration at Everest University and has been specifically working in the accounting field for 3 years now. Kimber resides in Asheboro enjoying family time with her fiancé, Terrell and two young boys, Tariq and Kobi. If you’ve ever been to our Asheboro location, Kimber is surely the first to greet you with a smile, ready to assist you with a welcoming presence.

BETH COX

Beth Cox is an Administrative Assistant for our Asheboro location and has been on the team since January of 2019. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, she worked in the banking industry for 37 years until coming into her role with HPT in 2019. Beth is from Asheboro and resides there currently with her husband, Craig, of 41 years. She enjoys working outdoors in her vegetable garden and spending time with her two children and four grandchildren.

KERRI FRALEY

Kerri Fraley is a Bookkeeper based at our Albemarle location. She joined the team in December of 2021 with 18 years of experience in the accounting field. Kerri is from Locust, NC and currently resides in Redcross, NC with her husband, Todd, of 36 years. She enjoys listening to live music and spending family time with her husband, three children and five grandchildren at their second residence at Surfside Beach.

DEVONA FREEMAN

Devona is an accountant working in the areas of bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative services. Devona works with numerous clients providing monthly and regular bookkeeping and payroll services. She received her Associate’s Degree in Accounting in 1996 and has worked in the accounting profession for 26 years. Devona lives in Denton with her husband, Dwain.

MICHELLE GRUBBS

Michelle is the Executive Assistant for Huneycutt, Parsley & Taylor. She joined the firm in 2015 after years of managing a real estate firm and working in insurance. She enjoys the details that make the office run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. She is very much a people person and loves being able to greet clients as they come in the door. She is married to her high school sweetheart and together they have two sons and two grandsons that are her pride and joy. She lives in Albemarle and in her free time, she enjoys working as a wedding coordinator.

ROSS HARTSELL

Ross is a staff accountant in the Albemarle office. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Gardner Webb University in 2017, and began work with the firm in May 2021. Previously, she has worked in real estate and insurance. Ross grew up in the Wilmington, NC area. Currently, Ross works in the areas of tax preparation and planning, bookkeeping, and payroll. Ross describes herself as “a true homebody who loves to ‘feather her nest’ and spend time with her new dog, Pepper.” Family is very important to her and she loves spending time with her three grown children and the grandchildren. Ross loves supporting the community and currently serves as an ambassador for the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce.

Jan Jackson joined HTP in October of last year as a Staff Accountant of the firm’s Client Advisory Services team, working from our Albemarle location. Jan is from the Detroit, Michigan area where she studied accounting at Wayne State University. She went on to get her Master’s in Business Administration from Appalachian State University in North Carolina. Jan has worked in the accounting field for over 40 years giving her clients the experience needed to support them in strengthening, growing, and expanding their businesses. Jan resides in Locust, NC where she loves spending time in the outdoors, enjoying sports and reading a good book.

MARY LYTLE

Mary grew up in Wisconsin and attended the Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College and University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. She moved with her husband to North Carolina in 2005 and does not miss the Midwestern winters. She previously owned her own accounting office in the Raleigh area for seven years. Mary has worked in the accounting field for more than twenty-five years, and enjoys income tax preparation, QuickBooks work, bookkeeping and tax planning. Outside of the office, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband Dan and little dog Cody, searching for the perfect antiques, genealogy and reading.

CORINE MILLER

Corine is a bookkeeper with HPT. She handles the recording of financial transactions and summarizing the data into financial statements for non-profits as well as for-profit businesses. She also handles payroll, sales tax and preparing reports to federal and state agencies. She has over 14 years experience at our firm. She lives in Randolph County with her husband, Danny.

Amanda Skeen is a Staff Accountant based at our Lexington location. She recently joined the team in November of 2022 with 37 years of experience in the accounting and tax fields. Amanda is from Denton, NC where she and her fiancé currently reside. She enjoys spending family time with her fiancé, son and three grandchildren.

Kim is the executive assistant of our Asheboro office. She performs an array of tasks to ensure the satisfaction of our clients and the efficiency of our work. She graduated from Randolph Community College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration, and has over 20 years of combined customer service and management experience. She lives in Asheboro with her husband, Dru. They have two sons, Logan and Elliott.

DONETTE THORE

Donette works in the Lexington office. She does bookkeeping, financial statements, sales tax, business property tax listings and all aspects of payroll. She has worked in accounting for over 25 years for different businesses and has been in the Lexington office for 5 years. She lives at High Rock Lake with her husband. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her 3 daughters.
